ASEPAL PRESS: The Personal Protective Equipment against Ebola
10/10/2014From the Association of Personal Protective Equipment (ASEPAL), an organization that brings together the manufacturers and distributors of personal protective equipment (PPE) in Spain, we want to convey that the EPI constitute an effective barrier to protect the health and safety the computer user. Unlike any other equipment or clothing, PPE, have been designed and tested for the sole purpose of providing the security of having a set of characteristics and requirements intended to protect the user that will lead to one or more risks that threaten their safety and health.
The health authorities have designed a series of procedures to adopt the necessary measures to control and prevent the spread of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVE). In such procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) that must be worn by all persons who access the designated buffer zones or to be in contact with the patient or their body fluids are defined.
The protection of workers potentially exposed to a risk of infection from this virus workers should be in accordance with Royal Decree 664/1997 on the protection of workers from risks related to exposure to biological agents at work.
